The Full Story
In 2003, Harold Dean and Michelle Callahan began working together at the same team at an area adolescent residential treatment facility. Later that year, Michelle threw out the idea of "we could open our own place." About six months later, Harold seriously said to Michelle, "we should open our own place." And so the adventure began. We started as a team of two and in 2010 our team expanded. Choices for Life was born.

The company is located in Wyandotte County, KS as Michelle is a lifelong resident and product of the KCK schools and wanted a way to serve her community in a capacity that was meaningful. Harold couldn't agree more and in 2010, the company opened its first home in June with the support and guidance of other providers in the area.
​
Both Harold and Michelle agree on the principles of keeping a smaller setting so there is more personalized support provided for each and every individual. The team has a passion for serving those in need of support and guidance so that they may thrive in their preferred lifestyle.
